First, I gather discarded paints from commercial paint shops. Top coats for walls are best, as they directly relate to our culture's colour preferences. I then sort them into feature wall colours and main colours. This can be easily deduced by the type of paint, size of the tin, and sheen level. I layer them strategically between enamel and acrylic in an attempt to achieve a sturdy painting that exists with minimal external support structures.

I am interested in the combinations of colours used and what these combinations can reveal about our individual tendencies and collective values. The western proliferation of the white wall is of particular interest, as well as the concept of a feature wall in interior design. The relationship between colour and aesthetics, as well as the value of aesthetics across disciplines is also of interest.
